I noticed some specks of mould inside my wardrobe and pulled it away from the wall to find this:

Now I don't know how bad for my health that sort of mould is with my bed next to it, I imagine not good. So I phoned up the letting agents to tell them that there is some nasty looking mould growing in my room and they have said they'll speak to someone and call me back. My question is, how bad is this mould, is it safe for me to remove or does someone else have to come in and do it, how damaging is it to my health? I've only been living here since mid september and there wasn't any mould then.

Probably due to condenstation, I assume the wall is a outside wall. Probabbly casued by bad airflow, would be wise to keep the window open a bit to let freash air in.

hot water + bathroom cleaner will do the trick. Allthough there will be no doubt 20 specilist products at your local homebase etc..

My last flat was mouldy. Very mouldy, and I lived there for two years. The mould got everywhere. In the fridge, on the windows, the light fittings. Even my clothes and pillows ended up with mould on them.

Mould is always about lack of ventilation. Get rid of it and keep the place well ventilated [though in the winter this is easier said than done]. It's unlikely it's bad for your health, only a specific type of mould is [I can't remember the name, but it's black].

Yeah it's an outside wall as my bedroom is on the corner of the house, thanks for the tip on how to clean it, if it's safe i'd rather do it now and get it out of the way. I'm thinking it's probably a good idea to move the wardrobe away from that corner of the room and have a desk there instead, at least if it comes back then I can see it quicker.

get some mould and mildew spray its uber cheap spray the area , whipe it all clean.

leave your window open for an hour a day , worry no move.

Had that problem when i moved in to where i currently stay. Ended up cleaning it all off the walls with some special mould cleaner then i painted the room with anti mould paint and bought a dehumidifier and its been fine since thankfully.

Always try and avoid putting large pieces of furniture against outside walls, if you do leave a decent gap!

Thanks for the tip, i've just got my desk in that area now so hopefully it won't be much of an issue anymore.

Careful. It may spread to your girlfriends genitals.

I'm single :p

I've cleaned it with some disenfectant and dry it with paper towel, it came of very easily so i'll just keep an eye on it from now on. Thanks for the help guys :)
