My Mum drives a Renault Megane Cabriolet, V reg if I remember correctly, and it's in a bit of a state.

Instead of getting her the usual flowers for Mothers Day I said I'd go round this weekend and give it the once over.

The soft-top roof is in a bit of a state though, lots of green moss/mould showing. What would you guys recommend to clean this? Can I just scrub it off? I'm assuming jetwashing a canvas roof is a fairly silly idea? I don't want to spend loads on special potions etc but I can spare a bit of loot for some roof cleaner.

Are they any other no-no's I need to know about with canvas roofs before I get going on it and wreck it?

Cheers

I just jetwash the green stuff off my Z4 roof, not had problems. There is quite a bit there now in the corners waiting for my car spring clean.

Ah the benefits of having a HT :D

The 5 seconds it takes to jetwash any moss formation during my yearly clean is easily outweighed by the joy of driving around with the roof down. :D

It's been a great week for open top driving as well.

Mines coming off soon anyway :p

So I can jetwash the roof then...?

It's one of these beauties just for clarification:

Yeah I'm gonna get the Autoglym kit which should do the job. Just wanted to know if jetwashing it was a bad idea. Wicksta seems to have done it on his Z4, just wondering if it'll kill the Megane's roof.
