Now if Yellowstone decided to go off, that would be newsworthy
IIRC Yellowstone's got to go through some serious mountain-building before an eruption becomes a super-eruption.

It's not Etna that should be worrying people, it's the slow and steady rise in activity at Phlegraean Fields. If that decides to pop its cork, well...
That's the super-volcano on our doorstep, isn't it?
But I'm not wasting any time or effort worrying about any of them. I can't do anything so there's no point.
There is also one in Western Germany - but very low levels of activity - it is like 99.999% dormant.
AFAIK it isn't really possible for it to suddenly blow - even if it suddenly came back to life into a serious eruption it would take weeks of significant activity producing lots of earthquakes first.
Depends - Yellowstone is perfectly capable of producing massive amounts of ash without a more violent eruption even now.

Yep also as far as Etna eruptions go, that's pretty decent although it's a whole lot of climate change that it's spewing into our atmosphere

I think it was announced a few years ago, scientists had discovered that the Yellowstone magma chamber was actually larger in volume than previously thought / measured.
Mount Pinatubo was the last major global climate influencing volcano when it erupted in 1991...that was a big one.

Fun fact, if Yellowstone's 'cano erupts then we're pretty much done for in terms of normal life, as if Covid wasn't enough for a year+
- It's erupted 3 times in the last 2 million years
- Its eruption would pump ash into the air so toxic to the lungs the mixture would be cement like and you would die rather horribly rather quickly
- All of North America would be immediately affected and nearly instantly killing tens of millions of people
- The sun would be blocked out for around 10 years and as a result global climate change would happen with a temp drop of 10 degrees

Scientists have said that there is no longer enough molton in Yellowstone for it to be world destroying. If it ever erupts again (and even that's hotly debated) It will be bad but not millions dead bad.

Would also keep an eye on Cumbre Vieja in la Palma, there have been various clusters of low mag earthquakes recently but nothing too shallow.
If that pops there's a small chance the western side of the volcano will fall into the sea creating a pretty sizeable tsunami.

Not much though. Humans chuck out 100times more co2 per year than all the volcanoes in the world. Its another conspiracy that can be ticked off the debunked list.
CO2 is as vital to life on Earth as Oxygen is, the real conspiracy is treating CO2 as a pollutant and using it to try to concentrate political power over that of national governments.
Deforestation is the biggest problem in terms of protecting the planet but even then the more CO2 there is in the atmosphere the faster plants and trees (crops) will grow, any gardener knows putting increased CO2 in a greenhouse helps the plants grow and they convert it to oxygen for us through the process of photosynthesis. It's GCSE level Biology.
