Mountain Bikes!

Sorry antc. Didn't follow the thread. Best picture I can find right now is http://www.recycled-cycles.com/Shopping/Accessories/Car Racks/57315.jpg

Its kinda of like that. Same idea. It rests on the boot door. Attaches via hooks that go on the top of the boot (the boot hinge) and then the bottom hooks on the bottom of the rear bumper. But I hook it on the bottom of the boot door. Hard to explain without pictures.

But as Matt has said that his car has a spoiler. Then i'm lost for ideas although this must be a coommon problem.
You can get racks that mount on rear hitches/ tow balls. I also think that if you have a spare wheel thats located under the car, you can mount them on that?

But I think that none of that helps you though.

I no! Think roof rack...

I used a plastic PVC sheet and put the back seats down before I had a roof rack. it only takes 2 seconds and I like my bike being locked inside the car.

The leon should be plenty big enough when you drop the rear seat.

have you tried asking the local branch of halfrauds if they have anything that will fit your car with the spoiler?

If i get a bike i'll just put it inside the car :) Saves on money to start out with, which can be spent on a better bike and other kit. However, i'm yet to convince myself that getting a bike is a good idea! heh

getting a bike is a great idea, i really enjoy going out for a blast as im sure you will. its good exercise as well mate. personally it would be nice to have people to go out riding with but unfortunatly i dont know many fellow mountain bikers round where i am, but hey, i started it to get fit and now i really enjoy it:)

edit : thanks for the info Rednut05, much appreciated

Pleasure. What bike do you ride?

My XC bike is a Specialized Stunt Jumper. 99 I think. After that they started to get heavier. Hardtail. Very light so road/ XC is great fun as its fast and nimble.

Also agree with the above. MTB-ing a a gentle work out. Any exercise you enjoy is a good thing right !?

I love riding my bike, and in 100% of all cases prefer it to taking a car, in ALL conditions ! Its a very relaxing sport, and a nice way to get fit.

Relaxing sport? Gentle work out? Ahh right you live in the flatest part of the UK! :p

Mountaining biking can be as relaxing (if you live in Norwich) as you want, or as adrenaline fueled soul sapping (if you live in Scotland) as you want!

:p;)

LMAO. Listen to the above. Comes from a dude who eats a mixture of greul from the stomach lining of a sheep.

You are indeed right, Norwich is very flat. There are no natural trails, however, im only 1 hour away from Thetford, arguably one of the nicest places to ride in the near vicinity of Norwich and surrounding areas.

Although, Norwich in naturally flat the man made hills are just as fun as the natural ones !!

A very nice place to ride. Nice mix of techincal and fast trails, some nice single track.

Id recommend it to anyone, lovelly place to ride - I'm sure you wont be dissapointed !

Admittedly i aint been for a number of months, however, BcJames has been recently. I'm sure it hasnt changed that much.

Thetford is FUN. Its real good if your pretty new to the sport too as its quite flat. Its super smooth fast single track, some fire roads, and a couple of cool bomb holes. Ive only ever raced there so I saw it in a different light I guess, but its cool there. Theres a few different trails there, and some dj's, although they might have been pulled, I cant remember.

Did you block me on msn Vinny?

MBR? although you have to order them, best way is to just use bridle ways. Cyclists don't have right of way on footpaths, so shouldn't be on them (although it isn't illegal, and I've never had any problems with it).
