Mountain Dew

Mountain Dew is rubbish. Most people only drink it because it's rare and they think it makes them cool. Denied.

Yeah it's probably not that great but it's another one of those massive American icons that we don’t have here. I’d love to try Wendy’s and taco bells as well.

Oreos have been the same, really wanted to try them because we didn't have them here but in the end they are not really that great.

Still I don't know till I’ve tried it.

It just tastes like limey less fizzy sprite. Its ok but i wouldn't go out my way to buy it.

Is that it? I was expecting some nectar of the gods type taste given the fuss that is made of the stuff. Can't see myself going out of my way either, and I am a bit of a soft drinks connoisseur.

Why isn't this sold in the UK properly?

And why can't places start doing Dr Pepper on tap.

Because, in short, it's rubbish. Try it. It's just one of those things. People hype it up, but essentially it's not that great hence not worth being marketed here. We have sprite.

Get out! And take your mountain dew hating words with you!! It's awsome.

It probably is closer to Sprite than any other drink, but that's like saying Dr Pepper tastes like Coke. Get some and enjoy! (Then contract diabetes)

It was sold here, but it was grim, people didn't buy it, so it was taken off the shelves. Make your own......Take sprite, allow to go flat, add green food colouring and crushed up pro plus and voila.

I wouldn't say it's rubbish. I enjoyed drinking it while I worked in Kuwait. 20p a can, and it's very nice when served ice cold.

I would probably react the same way I did when I first drank Gatorade. For years and years I'd watched the Amercian Football on Channel 4, watching them swilling Gatorade and tipping buckets of the stuff on each other, fascinated by the tantalizingly out of reach beverage. They called it Gatorade, it must be amazing. Then when it finally did appear in the shops here it was like flat Lucozade. Bit of an anticlimax really.

It used to be but didn't do well. Just started selling US products in our shop, but our supplier won't import it, says he has been warned off by trading standard due to high content of some chemical. Had loads of people asking for it thou and loads of places import it, so not sure what he is on about tbh!

Mentioned on this link, but says its a urban myth
