Mountain Dew

You can get Mountain Dew in most Chinese Supermarket funnily enough...I saw a 1.5L bottle for sale last week in Birmingham.

god damn i dont care if its not the same stuff i had back in the 90's! i got some cans from the US few years back and its so nice! but had a bottle of it in spain once and its not the same

i'm surprised you lot don't know theres a well established UK etailer that also has a sideline in such things, they currently stock Mountain Dew original, throwback, code red, voltage, & diet. not to mention American serials, candy, yadda yadda.

From FB page:

Company Overview:
After 1000's of you have petitioned us to launch Dew in the UK, we've decided to bring it to you! But in true Dew style we've added something a bit extra; Energy - to give you a kick when you most need it. Come join us and show us your support!

Mission:
Mountain Dew Energy is launching on the 3rd May and over the coming weeks! Pester your local petrol forecourts, motorway service stations, WHSmith Travel outlets, Sainsburys Local and large stores, Martin McColls newsagents and your local independent retailers to see if they're stocking the Dew!

This is so painfully daft I could cry.

1000's of you have petitioned(for years and years, basically since it was pulled) to get it back, so we've been fantastic and instead of giving you what you've been begging for, we changed it and will now release a new drink you may or may not like.

For the love of god how stupid can people get, release the original + the new one, but if everyones begging for something, why give them something else.

IT would be like if Coke pulled out of the UK, we begged them to come back, but they came back as Pepsi.

Personally I love the diet stuff, I don't drink full sugar drinks, hate how it makes me teeth feel. Likewise I don't know why anyone would want to pour gallons of cornsyrup down their throats. Corn syrup is some disgusting mass produced heavily refined truly sickening by product of the corn industry, completely and utterly unhealthy and something you really shouldn't want to be having. Cane sugar, still highly refined, is still better, sweeteners are probably no better for you, but at least you won't put on 10 stone and get diabetes from taking the stuff.

I did buy a couple cases of the diet Mountain Dew from american soda a couple times a year as a treat, would be nice to be able to get it for less than £1 for a can if they've released a diet one aswell.

The local sweet shop down in the Bargate centre stocks the imported cans. Never had one though as £1 a can is a bit steep.

It's amazing how huge corporations manage to make such huge blunders, instead of listening to customers they arrogantly act as though they know better and then their product spectacularly fails in an embarrassing way.

Corn syrup is the us version = Epic and awesome taste.

Cane suger while classed as upmarket in america yet in all our drinks as hfcs is banned just doesnt work the same in mt dew so its digusting. Not that it matters now I cant drink the stuff. They do say it causes diabetes and the 72 tins every couple of months I was drinking could be to blame :D

Diet dew time I think :p

Ok seeing as a few of you guys are in I'm going to the supermarket to buy a crate of original and a crate of code red then I'll send you one of each :) By the time I get back and arrange to send them all you will have forgotten about it all so hopefully it will be a nice little suprise.

I had a can of these 6 months back, it's good but its not amazing like people make it out to be. It's just different, i think if you want interesting alternative to Coke/sprite, Dr Pepper or the Bru or even Tizer are just as good if not better. Mountain Dew is just a citrus drink with a caffeine content, I still prefer coke if I want to be bad.

Bah - this just makes me sad.
Currently I'm importing Mountain Dew from the US - 24 cans at a time.
It isn't cheap.
Neither the wife or myself drink full-sugar drinks these days, when a can makes up around 30% of your daily sugars then there is a problem.

Diet Mountain Dew is lovely.
Looks like this "new" stuff in the UK is just so different it will hurt.

Oh well, keep on importing the expensive stuff I guess.

I've got a mate who gets it ridiculously cheap, passes it on for £10 for 24 cans. It's pretty good but you know when you're drinking it from consistancy, it has an unholy amount of sugar in it.
His stepdads in the RAF, somehow they get loads of american food cheap.

I can't understand the obsession with this rubbish. It's just fizzy water with a shed load of sugar and artificial colourings, which if you believe the research are carcinogenic
