You are right, but lets be honest, it is a joke to call it such.
If the game was truely in "Alpha", NO WAY would be it releasing this year. It is just marketing guff.

That is true. I could be in Alpha if they were going for a purely digital launch but seeing as they have to get the discs printed and sent out the Alpha was most likely a final Beta for the release and the "Beta" in September will be for a day 1 patch or something.

Indeed.
Would not be surprised if master had allready been signed off. The Multiplayer aspect which is what the "Alpha" focuses on, is no biggie to patch though on release like you say, as long as the SP campaign is working.
Meant to include that and realised I had missed it, added.

So many of the games on that list are **** though. The only ones on that list I'd be interested in are From Dust, Skyrim, Arkham City, and RAGE. I'll be getting Arkham on the PS3 though, as I think it's a better platform for that sort of game. The other 3 will be definite PC purchases though, along with BF3
