Mounting CPU, the bracket leaves some marks.

Hi,
I mounted the CPU (i7 4790k) on Maximus Hero VII MB. I noticed that I had to put some force into the little lever to get it mounted. After that I noticed that the metal bracket that holds CPU in place left some marks on it. I found similar image on google: http://images.bit-tech.net/content_images/2014/06/intel-core-i7-4790k-devil-s-canyon-review/core-i7-4790k-1-1280x1024.jpg[IMG] Look at the left and right side of CPU.. there are some scratch marks.. Is that expected?

Yep, you do get little marks like that. It's fine, no need to worry.

Ps Setter: I mounted the ram as you directed and it was really painless

The only problem I found was mounting the CPU.. the black plastic cover got stuck... I fixed it back in place and then it was fine

Glad to hear, putting a rig together for the first time can seem a bit daunting. But there are loads of guides online, and any niggling questions you have, come onto a forum such as this and many people will be glad to offer any advice/help that you require. The only stupid question for a new first time pc builder is the one you dont ask. After all we all had to learn one way or another. Enjoy your new system.
