Mounting reservoir horizontally? How do you bleed air in system?

Hi guys?

As per the title, if I was to mount the reservoir horizontally how do you bleed the trapped air from the loop as the res is supposed to be completely filled to the max?

Thanks :)

The reservoir does not need to be filled to the brim. In only needs to be filled enough to avoid air being pulled back into the outlet (to pump) so it just makes sense to fill it up as much as possible anyway.

You're not planning to mount the reservoir on top of the radiator are you? Even if it's cylindrical that's going to impede air flow so it's not a good idea. The greater the gap between the reservoir and the radiator the better if you really want to mount it there.

Thanks :)

Mounting the res on the bottom rad wasn't my first choice but I can't mount it anywhere else at the moment sadly.

NZXT case correct? Can’t see if it has the WC outlet grommets on the back but you can always fill port the setup there.

Depending on how you use the res ports the easiest way is usually just rotate the case and fill on its side, seal and then turn it back around. Repeat to bleed, you should leave some air in the res ideally or naturally it will settle in the top rad - just a small amount.
