Mourinho charged for sarcasm !!

It was clear sarcasm, but he was right to say what he did.

Until the refs are open to providing their interpretation of events this is always going to happen. Managers have been told that they are not allowed to point out mistakes made by refs, not allowed to say that refs had bad games, what do you expect as a next eventuality?

Managers can point out refs mistakes and say they've had a bad game. They can't be rude, insulting or question their integrity though.

There was no need for Mourinho to bring up Mike Riley and sarcastically thank him for how he's handled the title race. Unless of course he genuinely believes that Riley's against him and trying to stop Chelsea winning the League, which is absurd.

Just like Taggart used to do, Mourinho comes out with this bs after the game so that rather than us sitting here talking about how **** Chelsea played and how that performance has probably cost them the title, we're talking about the officials.

I can't think of a time I've ever seen a manager point out a mistake and not get disciplined for it though. Simply questioning their decisions seems to fall under the "rude" or "insulting" category.

It happens every week. Pellegrini wasn't charged for saying the ref made a mistake in the Liverpool game nor was Rodgers or Fat Sam when they said the ref made mistakes in the Liverpool - West Ham game.

Tin pot dictators at the FA all butthurt because a manager rightly thinks they are too inconsistent. How are they going to prove sarcasm exactly? They will punish him just because they can..they have no credibility left.

He would have got away with it if he hadn't mentioned Riley. The moment he did, it went from criticising the ref (which is okay) to insinuating that the refs have colluded and conspired, which is not okay at all.

They'll throw the book at him and quite rightly, considering he's not long been sent off.

I hadn't realised that.

Cue him putting it down to English not being his first language ;)

Was about to say the same thing :)

Managers saying the referee makes a mistake is not going to get them in trouble. But when a ref has made a series of them the manager then gets caned for picking up on it.

Thing is now, Mourinho has made his point and got more coverage by saying what he did the way he did and the FA come out with no credibility again.
