Mourinho leaves Chelsea?

Chelsea have issued 2 statements today, one denying any link with Hiddink and the other confirming that Grant is looking at having a British and a foreign assistant in his team so Clarke looks likely to stay (good) and the Ajax manager Henk Ten Cate looks likely to join especially as Ajax refused to comment on the stories.
I don't know whether the addition of HTC will circumvent Grant's lack of qualifications or not, I assume it will though:)

Im stunned that a rich club like Chelsea, who could hire some very high profile managers would get rid of arguably the best manager in England (JM) and replace him with someone whose crudentials arent really that great.

mourinho didnt bow down to pressure from roman, grant will to be honest.
RA is like a spoilt child.. hes just trying to get what he wants.

But if RA gets what he wants and takes away the decision making process from the manager, then his team will go down the pan. RA is an intelligent man (he wouldnt be in the position he is in, if he wasnt) and he must know that he isnt as good a manager as someone like Mourinho or even Avram.

maybes the man just thinks the sun shines out his **** and the success has gone to his head, therefore he thinks hes always right etc..
Not as far fetched now is it? :)

RA has never and probably won't ever pick the team as far as I can make out as much as rumour would have you believe. He may have had a major say in a couple of our recent big (flop) signings but that's it, if he were picking the team and had no idea about players current ability then Shevchenko would be getting a start in our major games, thankfully that's not the case:)

If RA is having an influence in which players are bought, then I would say this is an integral part of the strategy that the team adopts when it plays. It makes the difference between playing a diamond formation say, and playing a straight 4-4-2 formation. You play to the players' strengths. I believe this was the effect that Ballack was having and it just wasnt working.

Buy choosing which big name players are purchased, RA is effectively forcing the manager to play a certain way. In otherwords, he is ultimately dictating how Chelsea play.

in a way he kind of does have a right, its his club, and he knows what type of football he wants to watch. I just dont get why he didnt buy a fancy box at arsenal to be honest.
Guess he must have been drunk, oh wait, hes russian.

He certainly has every right to tinker in any way he sees fit. However, it will become boring for him if his team are consistently losing/drawing games. Most of the fun comes from beating teams and winning trophies.

if roman wants some one-touch football at chelsea he better get the checkbook out, makelele-essien-lampard-shevchenko playing free flowing attack minded football ......lol

he'd better get used to grinding results out, that's how they're going to remain competitive right now.

Under new management, you should expect the best results to come by simply playing a strong defence and aiming for 1-0 wins. In time, when players adjust to a new system or regime, then you can expect free flowing, attacking, attractive football. The sort of football that can only be played when players have totally gelled together and are almost reading eachothers' minds.

I think that Lampard and Shevchenko could probably adapt to that method of play. But Essien just isnt that sort of player and I cant see him ever being that sort of player. Makalele is older, so it should be a little tougher for him to change his playing style, especially at this stage in his career.

im unable to see how anybody expects chelsea to play attractive football with shev, what does the guy have nowadays? Hes not strong, hes not fast..

I believe his confidence has been eroded away over the last year or so. On top of that, Chelsea dont play to his strengths (dont ask me what they are). If he returned to Milan, Im pretty sure, it would be business as usual. Also consider that sometimes players dont click in a particular team. Diego Forlan and Freddie Kanoute come to mind. There are a lot of factors that have to be considered before a player is branded as "ordinary" or "cr@p".

Maybe his confidence went because he was surrounded by players that could live up to their pricetags in general? :)
Id love someone to come out and actually tell us what his strengths are really, we know confidence and being cool/calm are not one of them aswell now.

If he went back to Milan I think he'd still be the same, he looked as bad as he is now in istanbul vs lpool ..

HTC has officially joined Chelsea as assistant 1st team coach, didn't see that coming.
Every team he has input in plays very attractive attacking football apparently so it'll be good to see what he can do, especially if we're not going to be replacing too many players:)
