Man U, Spurs, Everton, Arsenal...not Liverpool.

He said: “Manchester United would be a great challenge for me. But Liverpool is not the club for me. I know why, but I cannot tell you.

“Tottenham, Everton… Arsenal maybe. These are all fine clubs with very good managers.

“You can dream of what happens in one, two, three or four years. Who knows? I cannot say, but I think you have an idea of what I think about.

“I had a dream about being the manager of Real Madrid. It has come true. For me that is incredible.”

To be honest it wouldn't be unfair to say in its current state, the Liverpool job is horrible compared to those around it. I'm still surprised Hodgson (let alone anybody else of note) accepted to move.

I love JM, he was a breath of fresh air to the prem, he was the only one that could play Ferguson at his own game.

I hope he comes back to the prem, Can only see him taking Man United (biggest job in Football once Ferguson retires or is sacked) or Arsenal (big team, great history, can he be the judas to turn Arsenal into a real team) cant see him going to any other team unless its at the end of his career

Only reason I can think he has gone to Real for the money and the chance to turn them into a great team again, no La liga in 2 years and CL record is a joke

Look forward to his return to the Prem. Wasted on Real.

Arsenal or United will get him. Fergie and Wenger won't live forever :D

If he does go to Utd, he'll soon be off once he realises he's got no money to spend. He wouldn't have to move house for his next job though ;)

Well City are the only team for him them but they have blueprinted the Chelsea/Abramovich era so cant see him wanting to go to a club he ended detesting?

This is true, but his way of putting was cryptic to say the least ...

Chelsea played the most boring "champions" football the premier league has seen, I'd HATE to have him at Arsenal and back in the league. Chelsea were 50 times more entertaining under Ranieri and now Ancelotti, score more, play better football thats far FAR more interesting to watch. It would be a huge same for him to come in and do the same.

Did no one watch the pure embarassement that was Inter in the champions league last year, purposefully returning posession with zero intention of attacking, just to sit on a lead, nothing wrong with it, but I'd give up watching football if every top team in the world played that way, the longer he stays at a club the worse the quality of the football gets to be honest, winning football, sure, but boring and utterly embarassing.

As for being a manager and not wanting to be at Liverpool, people need to remember, managing is a job, taking City to a title with unlimited funds is next to no challenge, they have a great squad, if Moany face went their they'd give him 150mil to let him have a few of "his" players in, so add Drogba, Ronaldo and Kaka in their, woo.

A jobs a job, improving a team is improving a team, a job without challenge too me, isn't even slightly as appealing as a tough job with limits involved and the chance to beat expectations and PROVE you're BETTER than other managers.

Another year or two of City team improving and 5 out of 10 managers could win the league with that team, 1 out of 100 managers could win the league with Liverpool right now, and still 1/100 would even get them into the top 4. Its why Hodgeson was in the frame for manager of the year, its not about success, its success relative to resources/quality of team you inherited and how good your buys have been.

Every great player in the world doesn't cost 40mil, Cesc was free(good as), Kompany was 5mil, right players at the right time you can improve any team with very little money, good managers can do it anywhere, anyone can do that with unlimited funds at an already high up team.

Strange. I'd love to have him at Arsenal (with Wenger nipping upstairs). I don't care how we play if we win trophies at the end of the season. It'd all be worth it in that regards, if opposition fans find us boring then again, I couldn't care less.

On the other hand, if you look at somebody defensive George Graham springs to mind, and in 9 seasons or so he got two league titles, an FA Cup, 2 League Cups and a UEFA Cup Winners Cup (when the latter two were held in far higher esteem). Wenger in 14 years has 3 league titles and 4 FA Cups. Ignoring what he's done externally for the club a second Wenger's tenure is only a little bit more successful, and as time goes by it's probably going to even out (not really optimistic this season, though am waiting to see if new signings will ground).

Plenty of teams park the bus in front of others and don't forget the Sam Allerdyce school of football, i.e. do what you need to do to maximise your points. So for me - any approach will do. Don't forget as well, this is easily possible in this country because e.g. tv rights are split evenly. That is to say Wenger has said in the past 'we had a responsibility to entertain' but as an Arsenal fan it's well beyond the line between that and pure bloody frustration.

Mourinho said months ago he wouldn't manage Liverpool because they couldn't compete on a financial level with Chelsea and City. He doesn't want to work for success, he wants to walk in to a job where's he guaranteed it.

I'd hate to see Spurs embarrass themselves all the way to the final like that this year. :p

The man is a tactical genius. That game was fascinating to watch. Far more interesting to watch than another one-sided 6-0er.

The Barca v Inter semi-final second leg was one of the most tense games of football I've ever watched, and I was a complete neutral (well OK, maybe I was rooting against those Barcelona ****s), it was thrilling to watch.

I think his 1st season at real will be and all or nothing afair. Either he wins la liga and cl or he gets the boot for arguing with the board.
