Mourinho's future

Mourinho said months ago he wouldn't manage Liverpool because they couldn't compete on a financial level with Chelsea and City. He doesn't want to work for success, he wants to walk in to a job where's he guaranteed it.

He won the UEFA Cup and Champions League with Porto on a shoestring budget, so I'd say that's total rubbish.

Well, you could say that since leaving Porto he's been used to oodles of wonga, so doesn't want to go back to having to scrape together peanuts.

You just sound bitter that one of the world's best managers has out and out said he wouldn't want to manage Liverpool, (based on their current situation, quite rightly too). To say that he doesn't want to work for his success is a bit steep, no manager whatsoever would be able to deliver the trophies the fans want atm.

Chelsea didn't win anything before Mourinho, 3 coaches later they 'merely' won an FA Cup and last year (4 coaches later) they finally picked up a league. He clearly did far more for his success to win back to back leagues and 3 other trophies.

Irrespective of how much money Real Madrid have been spending, Mourinho isn't going there with an easy task!! Attempting to transform their fortunes in Europe/dethrone that Barca side is going to be an incredibly tough task, and they've been spending no small amount of money themselves in recent times...

Aye he's got to make that Real squad topple one of the most or the most successful domestic side of the last decade. 2 European Cups and 4 La Ligas at least.

Guaranteed it? Inter had been pants in Europe for ages... Real Madrid have Barcelona to compete with... etc. He's obviously not going to go for rubbish jobs, but it's harsh to say he only goes to places where success is guaranteed!

Pigeon went slighty OTT but since leaving Porto he's only considered jobs where he's had huge amounts of money to spend. Which is why the talk of him joining Utd is strange.

He's clearly a very good manager but he's a first class ****. He's a short-term Chelsea/Man City type manager that comes in does a job and then leaves because he's bored or sacked because he won't shut up. He's not the type of manager that any club should be looking at if they want to build or continue any sort of legacy.

As I hinted in my first post, he's perfect for City. He'll take them onto the next level and they can build from there.
