Unless you are using more than 4GB of RAM I wouldn't bother with 64Bit anyway.

See now I tried my old hard drive with the legit version of windows on it... and it worked fine...

I really do not get this.

Ditch the pirated copy of windows.

(Don't worry about the £10....put it towards a legit copy of Windows)
