Hi there, I have spent most of today building my first PC, all the hardware has been installed, then it booted fine until the windows screen appeared, and I could not move the mouse nor type my password in, I restarted and entered the BIOS and found that my mouse and keyboard work there fine. All my parts are new apart from my HD which I previously used in another PC. I am quite a novice at building but I'm guessing this problem is being caused by me not installing the motherboard drivers, however how can I do this as I cannot do it via windows as you would normally.

Can anyone help?

PS: Sorry if this thread is in the wrong part of the forum, I was not sure where it should go

Firstly, make sure they're both plugged into the USB2.0 ports, not the USB3.0 ones. If that doesnt work, wait till Windows has booted to the password screen and try unplugging / plugging them in again.

With my gigabyte motherboard the usb ports were disabled in bios as default.

I went into bios and enabled them via options and all was fine.
