mouse goes off screen to right

usually can only correct it by rebooting but its been happening more frequently lately,any ideas? happens on desktop and games, tried wired and wireless both can get the problem.

Are you saying the mouse moves by itself or that you can actually move the mouse off screen on the right side?

Well your problem here is that you are moving your mouse to the right, incidently the cursor also moves to the right, causing it to go off screen

Run a virus scan to clear anything nasty that may be causing it.

Well that's two problems - 1 that the mouse is moving itself, 2 that the mouse can go off screen...
Have you checked your desktop display settings? Make sure you're not accidentally running a second monitor or something?

I did that once, i accidently had dual screen enabled and it took me two weeks to find the problem.

I think it's default for a second monitor to appear to the right of your screen so that could be the cause of the cursor moving completely off screen.

ok I have checked and i have just the one screen ticked, no other screen showing,

I have tried 2 mice and they both do it at times, both logitech wireless g2 i believe and a wiredmx518.

so far tonight its not done it,i had the bios reset itselfa couple of times in the last few days and i had to clock down the cpu a bit. but ihave had the nouse problem for about 2 weeks intermittantly

Doubtful, it is probably more likely a virus. Does it do it in safe mode?

not tried it in safe mode, but because it doesnt happen all the time maybe a couple of times a day its not too much of a problem, im going to install win 7 soon so im not too bothered just puzzled

In display there is a drop down box, it can list two monitor settings, double check you have the single display selected cause i think you might of gone into the graphics control panel.
