Hey guys and girls I bought a new mouse the other day (Saitek R.A.T 7) and I absolutely love it apart from one problem sometimes it has a mind of it's own. Now I know this is due to my music. I'm at uni and only have a small desk which houses my speakers and my sub which is under the desk.

The Issue is when I play my music or any games and a mid-high sound is made my desk vibrates a little causing my mouse to shake around the screen which is very annoying when your trying to click something small like open a new tab or get a headshot.

Anyway I was hoping someone might have a fix for this and not saying turn the music down because I assure you I can turn it down to 10% even turn the sub off and this poxy desk will still vibrate. Maybe something I can make or something just to help fix this problem. Also if anyone wants to see my mouse have a Rave I'll upload a video. xD

Regards -Skeng-

Possible Fix

I stuck my mouse mat under my speaker and even though the desk was still vibrating the mouse did not keep moving around the screen :D
So I'm going to buy like a £1 mouse mat from ebay or something and give this some extended testing.

That is one rubbish desk, but yeah I've noticed the same with my R.A.T. 7 when I turn the music up a bit and mine's a solid wood desk.

I'd say add more weights to it, also turn the DPI setting down as it'll be less noticeable to the shakes.

what mouse mat you using?

If you can, you want something that doesn't lie flat on the surface. So something with feet to take the vibration out.

I get the same problem too if I'm playing loud music with the bass whacked up high.

I have a RAT 9 With the exact same problem, its just a very sensitive mouse, i have to turn the sub off and keep the speakers away from the desk. If the speakers are leaned up against the desk even a small vibration will set the RAT off.

Unfortunately I have I can put up with it in games as I don't usually play music but on the lowest DPI setting (1000 for me). I still get major shakes :/
Think I might start looking into some sort of soft foam to sit my speakers on which might dampen the vibrations.

Damn these modern mice and the blasted high sensitive lasers :P

Are you using a mouse mat?

Yes I'm using a mouse mat just a cheap Everglide Titan. It's flat on my desk I'll try having a play around with some house mates mouse mats or even using something to give the mat some lift. :) thanks for the advice.
