Mouse movement causing system stuttering

Hi,

As of 2 days ago whenever I move the mouse in any game I own it causes the game to free until the mouse stops moving again.

e.g Sitting idle in the spawn on tf2 whilst getting 150+ fps however as soon as I move the mouse my fps goes straight down to 0 and the game freezes until i stop all mouse movement, this has happened on atleast 8 different games that i own,

I have tried graphics card driver installation, updating bios, removing any programs that were installed during the period of it being fine and not working and installing / uninstalling mouse drivers and have run out of ideas

My rig is more than capabale of playing all the games so im sure that it isnt a problem of me runing out of system resources and would lead me more to believe that its more of a conflicting software issue

Any help would be appreciated thanks

This might sound strange, but check your Disk Drive Controllers, I've only had a similar issue with that when they are switched to PIO Mode and the processor basically has to stop to allow the HDD IO to go through before continuing what it was doing.

Is the Mouse USB or PS2?

If USB could be worth uninstalling the USB controllers and allowing them to reinstall after a reboot.

Also tried a different mouse?

Thanks for the reply

The problem causing mouse is USB, however I just plugged in an old ps2 optical mouse and it works completely fine, and the problem mouse works fine on other systems, so at this time it does look to be the USB controllers causing the problems

going to try re-installing all usb controllers, will report back afterwards

This hapenned to me after i updated the firmware on my G5. At first i thought it was a cossfire problem as i had just built rig.

I just changed to another spare G5 and all was fine.

Just re-installed all available USB controllers including 2 reboots and having no success, just un-installed all updates and un-installed all programs that were installed when the problem occured and still to no avail

and I would rather be able to fix the problem if it comes around again rather than having to just buy another mouse

just downloaded and installed the game Section 8 : Prejudice to find that it works fine, im not sure whether or not it was because it had to install a new directx version of nvidia physx, but this has confused me a lot

try deleting your tf2 config. im sure i had some similar kind of issue a while ago (cant remember what it was but deleting the config and getting the game to create a fresh one did the trick) worth a shot.
