So my Logitech G400 seems to be on its way out, constantly disconnecting and reconnecting from my PC (have tried reinstalling drivers and using a different mouse at the moment which isn't having the issue).

So far I've been looking at the G400s and the Razer Deathadder 2013.

I'm obviously comfortable with the shape of the G400, I like the somewhat chunky feel to it that almost fills my hand out even though I have a fingertip/claw grip, which is why the G400s would seemingly be the obvious choice. However the one slight dislike I have is that it is a tad too much on the heavy side.

Been looking at the Deathadder as every time I've looked into different mice it almost always comes up as a recommendation. My only worry is that it looks like it might be a bit on the long/flat side in comparison with my G400 ?

To compare, I have a Steelseries Kinzu V2 which I bought a while ago, but its way too flat, and not quite long enough, so doesn't fill out my hand at all and just isn't comfortable for me to use.

So anyone able to tell me where the Deathadder sits between the G400 and the Kinzu in terms of shape and size?

Or is there another mouse that would be a better choice?

The problem you are having wit the G400 is a common issue that Logitech openly admits to being a manufacturing fault. If its less than 3 years old (which is probably is) you can get a replacement. The issue is, they still haven't fixed the problem - I went through 3 of them in 5 months...

Deathadder is like the Kinzu but a bit taller. Same flat-ish profile though. Could try an FK/AM/EC1 but they have similar shapes to Deathadder/Intellimouse.
