I think my MX518 is on the way out. Its where the cable meets the mouse, if I move it in the wrong way the light goes out and its dead for a second or so. I'm guessing this isn't something I can fix myself (I can't see any ways to unscrew or open up the mouse).

Its over a year old (could be two, I can't remember) so I assume there's no warentee or anything on it? :P

Assuming it'll only get worse, should I start looking for a replacement? I don't think I could consider any other mouse, though. The changable DPI is handy, and I love the thrid button on top, its set to open up the flip3d in vista which is just super cool, and rather handy too. And the two buttons on the side are great too.
Are there any other mice with similar configs?

No wireless rubbish!

I've had my MX518 for 2 years no problems. It does sound like yours is on the way out.

If you really like it why not get another?

Ring logitech support and they will get a new one out to you I would have thought.

I've just noticed from browsing around that MX518's have a 3 years warranty, I can't remember seeing that in the sales jargon when I bought mine a year ago, so you should get a replacement no sweat.

I've been told logitech support is top draw.

:o
Really? And to think I almost bought a new one :3

I don't think I have my reciept, but its only just been out for 3 years, do you think for that reason they would assume its still in warrenty? :P

Better than top draw it's the Best & 2nd to no other company when it comes to customer care.
Ring them & they will ask you to cut the USB plug off the old one & send it in to them whilst they send you a New mouse
Logitech are The Best company out there bar None.
