Not sure where i should have put this as it's a bit game related and hardware. I have a Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer 4.0, i have been playing battlefield 2 more and more latley and it seems to be that my mouse is causing me to miss my targets when shooting. This seems more true when the targets are far away e.g. sniping them, i mouse my mouse a little and the cross hair seems to move a lot. It's only i was in an inferior hardware supplier the other day (not getting anything for me from there) and noticed now you can get gaming mouse's and they was on about resoulution this and that etc.
Would anyone be able to tell me if i would benefit from a better mouse, and lets not have silly remarks about my aim being **** cause it's not
(i blame it on the mouse)

Nah I'm kidding.... it is possible.... could be anything though... mine was having a shiny mousemat...

ps. FULLY edit out your swear in accordance with forum rules

just looked at the specs and she's only 400dpi, seen a few 1600, and 2000dpi, i am guessing one of these would be a good upgrade

I can play the game with your mouse, and used to finnish rounds with 10:1 K:D regular on foot on Karkand.

The game takes a while to learn to shoot with the guns, the sniper rifles take 10+ hours solid of missing before you get consistent, with 40 hours as one I only hit 33% of the time. Its to stop them being unstoppable and balance the game.

I can usually outsnipe snipers with the nerfed PKM (version 1.23 as 1.3 killed the game for me).

Just get in some more practise, the mouse change wont make you a better player, if you change the mouse and put in more time it will though, or keep the same one and put in more time.

Be careful with competitor mentions too.

imo medic is good for the beginners, the guns are once that are easy to use (m16,ak101). also assualt is a good choice, once you know how far the grenlauncher fires, u can land them on peoples heads form 100 m away :p

I used to use a microsoft 400dpi mouse. I really loved the shape and feel of it but I got the same problem as you, jerky movements in some games.

Certain games use mouse smoothing technology which literally halves your DPI. This is very noticeable on 400dpi mice.

After moving up to a 1600dpi mouse, the movement of my crosshair is a lot more smooth.

Anything 1000dpi or more should be bettter and easily enough, i've tried quite a few mice from 1000dpi upto some of the real gaming beasts, and to me they're all as good as each other, its about preference then on.
