Hey peripherals experts of OcUK maybe you could help? :)

I have a new mouse (Zowie EC1 Evo) to place my old MS IE3.

I have my sensitivity settings all dialled in for my FPS games (mouse accel disabled in windows etc). The new mouse has much higher sensitivity than the old one under the identical windows 'mouse speed' setting though.

I don't want to start from scratch again with my new mouse, so is there any way to get quantitative figures for my mouse settings so I can replicate the same amount of horizontal/vertical movement on the new mouse?

Sensors can vary in acceleration curves, Lift of distance, and input ratios and other factors, best way for FPS gaming Is I have an eVo EC1 I'd suggest putting these settings

- Windows 6th Notch
- Advanced Pointer Percision : Off
- DPI: 450

And depending on your operating system i'd suggest getting a registry file from the net which solves the windows curve acceleration.

MarkC's is what I use and can feel the 1:1 input when setting it up correctly

Hope this helps.

Cheers!

Yep already had the MarkC registry fix for mouse acceleration.

I guess the thing to do is what you recommend: set the Zowie to 450 DPI then it will in theory be exactly the same as the IE3 :)

Does the "non-native" DPI cause mouse lag though?

I'd say as the IE3 is an old mice, sensor technology has improved, so the feedback you'd get from an IE3 might not be the same as the Zowie, but I'd say to get the best mouse to pointer ratio in FPS games would be 450dpi, but then again there are DPI/Sensitivity converters on the web which can match the 800dpi IE3

http://ragial.com/mouse/ would be a good start if your really wanting too match the feel of the IE3 for yourself.
