I think (and I'm clutching at straws) that what's happening is as you're overclocking and pushing up the FSB it's speeding up the entire system. This includes things like your USB ports talking to.... whatever it is they talk too.
Well, they speed up and this can cause problems. AFAIK you'll need to reduce your FSB and use a higher multi or errrr.... something. Hope this goes some way to helping.
If I remember correctly some mobos have the option to lock certain things so your usb ports and other IO bits wouldn't get changed when you overclock your cpu..
