Been reading reviews and cant seem to make up my mind,
some say a glass mat is better and others say a cloth one is better :s

Which do you prefer? and which is better?
Any recommendations on what is the best to buy?
I personally regard a good mouse, keyboard and monitor the most important part of your PC as these are the parts that affect your health

Thanks in advance

I also don't mind spending money on these said parts because it's how you interact with the box that sits under your desk.

I prefer a cloth mouse mate with my optic mouse. It's not as smooth as glass, but that roughness helps to control the mouse movement across it.

I know a lot of people here that don't use cloth mats either use their desk, or a cheap baking tray from a supermarket or something.

I prefer my Steelpad 4S. Most people scoff at the price, but it's lasted me nearly 3 years of heavy use, in which time I would have worn through many cloth or plastic mats.

Steelpad 4S. Ive had mine for a couple of years and still good...
I also know of one person who uses a non-stick flat dish type thingy from the supermarket :p
All down to your own preferences and how much you want to pay really.

I use a Func 1030, which is a plastic surface with two sides that you can swap betweem - a smooth side and a rough side. I use it with a G5 mouse and I love the combination :)

I agree that the keyboard, mouse+mat and monitor have to be some of the most important purchases for any system. It doesn't matter what's in the Pc so long as it works and it powerful enough, but the external peripherals such as mouse and keyboard are actually the only components that you touch or look at when using your PC :) Money spent here is def money well spent ;)

Sold my Steelpad SS to my neighbour and been using this telflon sheet eversince :)

i've had a number of mats back when i used to play on the world scene of cs! i've had a Xtrac Hybrid / everglide dkt / steelpad 4s and currently on the team f'natic everglide titan and it's awesome!

I had a everglide DKT, it was HUGE! I cut it in half in the end (horizontally) and then got fed up with the amount of dust it always seemed to collect! I juse use my desk now and its got two patches were I have worn through the varnish!

Qpad without a doubt. Steelpad, Ratpadz; all built for durability, however when it comes to the best comfort and smoothest glide, cloth pads win hands down. I personally couldn't stand the Ratpadz as it grinded away at my mouse.

I've been using the same mousepad since Riven came out YEARS ago.....a fabric mousepad with a riven picture on the front....does fine

Personally I think cloth is best, at least for me. Technically these days I dont even need a mouse mate, the table works just fine, but I like a nice cloth mat to keep noise to a minimum, especially late at night, you'd be suprised how loud a mouse can be through a wall, on a wooden table or solid mouse mat.
