Mousepads.

I've been using the same Fnatic, hard-scratchy-plastic pad since 2018 - really need to replace it with something a bit more suited to my new corner sofa, Gucci-belt-wearing status, but until I get my finger out and reclaim my study from the Mrs and her moggies, I don't know what I'll want.

The aim is to build a custom desk (walnut kitchen work top with built in drawers & shelving), but lots of other commitments (new car, travelling, garden makeover) before I get to plan it out.

I had an ocuk value desk mat, which served me well for 3 years, I was going to get another when it's day was out,but I saw one of these in B-grade for cheap, nice mat tbh, I like the rgb rim, and the mat itself has a good feel/low friction, bit bloody expensive A-grade brand new though

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £101.48 (includes delivery: £7.99)
Bargain mousemat right there! Think they put the decimal point in the wrong place? :D

Always been tempted to try this one, seen it's on sale for 85 quid at the minute too. Do you find dot skates are 100% required with a glass pad?

I found dot skates worse than full coverage personally (also collected more dirt with frequent use, so constant cleaning of skates needed more regularly) Full coverage worked better for me with superglide glass skates for my superlight 2

but I also have a cheap Mchose L7 Ultra mouse that has plastic skates as shipped and while not as smooth gliding across the surface still have no issue using it.

Those Glass Pad’s do look interesting, although I prefer slower pads, do the glass pads feel super fast?

Do you wear one of those arm sleeves

I have a couple of sleeves, but stopped using them as they do make the pad faster but at the cost of smaller movements not being as precise. :D

Otherwise I just find them more consistent.

I'm actually really on the fence about a glass pad myself. I was under the impression that one of the main reasons for a sleeve was due to people in much more humid environments than the UK so sweat was the problem.

It's also really hard to get actual info you can trust for glass. For example on reddit I read about some really good pad coming out called the Tekkusai Singularity and everyone was like "you don't need a sleeve for this glass pad only for wallhack" but then actual reviews still talked about needing one... you can't win.

That's why I got it with the sleeve and ended up not using it :)

decide for yourself if you ever own a glass pad, which way to go.

Personal preference imo as well as the skates on the mouse.

Are you doing glass skates on a glasspad? Does it work?

Got plastic on one mouse and glass on the other, it works either way :) glass skates have less resistance.
I would have thought glass on glass would scratch like my cat on a fresh sofa but that is interesting. Do you ever have too little resistnace or are you looking for even less?

Doesn't seem to be the case anymore.

"For DHL (not EMS) shipments, up to two pieces can be shipped at the same shipping cost."

So max 2 pads.

You sure? This is what I see:

First of all "Includes COVID emergency surcharge"... LOL.

"Customs duty and sales tax/VAT are not included"

I also forgot you have to give your credit card details to them and only have a debit card so literally impossible to get an Artisan for me. Maybe if someone wants to take the risk and order 2 Artisan pads I'll pay like £55 for one. Net yourself approx £15 taking your pad down to about £26.
I just come back from japan and tried to buy the artisan mousepad but they were all sold out. I checked few places.

Zowie GS-R SE Griss is nice as easy to get, Artisan Type-99 is a top tier pad. I found the Saturn pro overrated and to soft..

I've got one of the boogie bug large ones that I still use with my work setup and one of the XXL OCUK (or maybe 3XL - they're both 90x45cm) deskmats for my gaming PC, both are pretty dirty/dusty but I've never tried to wash them.
The boogie is also peeling quite a bit around the edges as they aren't stitched.
I recently bought a 90x40cm one 'online' which is purple with a prism design, should go nicely with my purple keyboard. Seems good quality and was only £6!

I'm definitely a big fan of full sized desk mats though, think I'd struggle to go back to having to be conscious of where the edges are!

Never tried Glass did you find it hard to adjust to?
It's a lot faster and obviously very smooth. I would say it would take me some getting used to in FPS games where accuracy is most important as the slightest movement registers. The fact my mouse is only 49g means i can blow it across the mat.

I also use a Zowie GS-R III which is like moving a mouse in mud by comparison. That said id be far more accurate with the Zowie cloth pad.

Will need to try glass one day... it won't suit the games i play at the moment but they do look nice and sound interesting..
