Moved into a my first flat, how to get connected ASAP?

I believe sometimes there is an option for fast tracking a service, I know that when connections are provisioned from BT Wholesale services by ISP's, they have the option to fast track a service, although not all commercial ISP's will give you this option.

If they do, be prepared to pay I think its something between £150-£200, and that will take it from 7-10 days activation, to 3-5 days.

But yeah, otherwise its around a week.

Generally you only get businesses wanting to pay for this privilege though most of the time, the average home user will not want to pay for this if your ISP offers it to you (most of the times you wont even know if they offer this service, unless you ask them)

I've recently moved house.

My order for a phone line and ADSL2 Broadband was confirmed on the 20th Jan.
My phone line was remotely activated on the 24th Jan.
My Broadband will be live on Saturday 1st Feburary.

In the meantime I've been my mobile as a wifi hotspot in a very patch data area.

What do you mean phone line remotely activated? I thought this is the bit that's holding me back as I don't have a phone line. The appointment I need is for the engineer to come so I'm assuming this can't be done remotely. Then again this all might be area specific (the delays)

Depends what exactly is needed doing with your line, sometimes they can activate it at their end, or the exchange and don't actually need to go to your premises

The previous occupier had a phone line and then cancelled it before he moved out.

Because BT didn't disconnect the phone line at the exchange, they could re-subscribe me and do this remotely.

If you don't have a socket at all, then they'll be an engineer needed.

No I do have a socket!! Waite I'm afraid I choose the wrong option or something there when I ordered as the delay is indeed too much.

Situation is I have a socket it's just there's no line active there. I'll give them a call actually see what they say.
