Well, they are too my eyes anyway.
They do not tend to pique my interest. Just the opposite.
A compilation of 50 or so clips. Each lasting less than a second usually.
To me, that's just an annoying bunch of flashing images.
They do not inspire me to watch the actual movie.
Just puts me right off wanting to watching the movie they are trying to advertise.
What are they designed to do? Appeal to folk with an attention span which is less than that of a goldfish?

Kind regards,
Mr Grumpy Oldman. ;)

Yeah thanks for that cu3ed. Not. ;)
Hadn't really noticed that before you pointed it out. Had a quick google for Single Piano Note.
Now you've given me something else to get grumpy about.

3 ways to learn about an upcoming film:

1) Watch the official trailers and synopsis released by the studio then watch or not based on that.
2) Scour every internet page for spoilers, leaks, theories in advance and then watch or not based on that.
3) Go in blindly.

I use method 1, which I think is what most of the general film viewing public do. method 2 is gaining popularity. method 3 is for people with money to burn!

Modern trailers have morphed into a parody. They are almost literally identical in structure and audio, they're just unwatchable, but thankfully they have little resemblance to the actual films.

I guess they are probably the product of extensive AB testing on youtube/tiktok, so have evolved to tailor to the attention-starved morons that spend all their free time scrolling.

But all the old trailers were identical.

"in a World"

"One man"

"This fall"

Etc

Yeah tailor made and spawned off templates, etc.

So rare to see an actual good trailer these days which leaves you wanting to see the movie - they either seem to alternate between overly hyped fast montages which tell you absolutely nothing about the movie or basically the entire movie as a highlights reel so you basically don't need to bother watching the movie...

I used to enjoy trailers when they gave a sneak peak at the movie, now they are far too long and give away most of the movie. I avoid them now as well as social media feeds to avoid spoilers etc and...........

But, but, but... in the absence of trailers I would be able to watch youtoobers spend hours explaining the trailers to me.
