Moving a Mac Pro to a LianLi case

Yep, now the search is working it is a lot better to be able to see if yer question has already been answered before asking it.
how much can it really change though? apart from hole positions?
Just so you know dude (incase you haven't already done it) don't plug your hard drives directly into the Mac Pro, it won't recognise NTFS and will need to reparition the hard drives before it can use them, therefore wiping all your data.

It starts out from BTX as well plus look at the back plate then really going to need to mod the back to get the connectors in.

the memory is on riser cards which are held by the case.

Hello, is there anyway I get can my Porsche engine into my Fiat Uno as I don't want to lose my cup-holders.
What a stupid, stupid idea.
I don't know, a Porsche powered Uno would be lots and lots of fun drop the engine in the back, convert to RWD and enjoy.

Gold scratches so easily and the weight of it makes be think that's actually a really bad idea..
why the hell shouldnt someone concider changing a case on an apple? you pays your money you do what the hell you want :roll:
personally id welcome someone splitting from the pack and doing something different with what is concidered some good hardware and changing the external styling.
re airflow: arranging decent airflow across those components its hardly rocket science.

Someone asked - why not start with a spare mobo (available from service centres) and build one up. A few folk in the link below have done so... but the price works out near enough a Mac Pro... but then you have your choice of cases which was your intent.

[EDIT] Actually perusing that thread is a guy buying an old MacPro case and a Pro mobo and fusing them together with watercooling... but by page 11 there are a few other guys building them with there own specs. So enjoy! Has a lot of dicsussion about the format of the board - what chips will work for your franketosh.
