Moving BT line

You should have got the 2, The 10 will make problems. You may have a terminal box outside. If you lucky. You can join in there and if you use the quick conections BT will think it's there own job!

I'll be doing exactly the same shortly
 
Guess i should have bought 2 pair instead of 10!! Mate said he can get me some 6 pair for nowt! He used to work for BT.

You'd have thought the twisting of the pair in use would negate any issues caused by the other unused pairs, which would sort of act like a shield anyway. I suppose though BT have never really been bothered about getting a world class noise free system in place.
 
Update:

Used my mates 6 pair to run extension outside and into another room. All went very well indeed and all working 100%.
