Hi Guys,

I am going to be getting a new HDD soon as mine is now getting very old and
I'm in need of a new so will be getting a 3-4Tb drive.

What I would like to know though is I have 900Gb of data that I will need to
transfer to the new drive, what is the fastest way of me doing this as I'm sure
Windows will takes ages to do this.

Thanks

Sata3 > Sata3 as said above. Any copy from a mechanical HDD will take a while, it'll be limited by the speed of the slowest drive. For example if both drives can sustain 100Mb/sec - which may be optimistic - 900Gb will take around 2.5 hours to copy.

I'd be tempted to use robocopy to copy the data, that'll be as quick as it gets and it will be resumable if you need to stop it for any reason.
