For the past 2 years I've been with Giffgaff been happy with them, but decided it's time to move on & go with 3 as they now offer a good 12 month contract sim only.

With Giffgaff is was paying £15 per month for 400 mins Unlimited text & Internet.

With 3 I will be getting 600 mins 5000 text & all you can eat data for £15.90, also with 3 i'll be getting faster internet speed, plus 4G at the end of the year at no extra cost.

Giffgaff on the otherhand while internet speed is decent at home, around 5mb/sec on 3 it's around 17mb/sec on my S4 using my neice sim, plus 3 has no problems in the Town Center unlike with Giffgaff getting a decent H+ signal is hard to come by sometimes.

Also 4G on Giffgaff probably won't be seen until sometime next year & at extra cost to while they use the O2 network.

Giffgaff have been great it's kept me away from contracts with what it offered, but i think 3 have a much better package now for only 90p more a month.

So has anybody else moved from Giffgaff onto 3, and hows it been for you?

I pay 15 per month PAYG for all you can eat data 300 Mins and 3000 texts

3 are great. Seems like they are by far fastest growing operator.

I think EE missed a trick with their stupid 4G prices

EE prices will fall in line when the others release 4G, they charged silly prices because they got the head start with no competition, if they don't then more fool them.

I recently made ethe opposite move from Three to GG. All of a suddent my Three signal was insanely poor indoors and I had to to stand near a window to make calls/txts, Three were not offering me a Signal booster unless I paid £50 for it so I thought I'd move. Been on GG since really happy.

Three's internet speeds are amazing (if you can get a decent signal), GG is OK for internet but no where near three. OP if you get a good signal I'ed say its totally worth it.

Recently moved from giffgaff to Three, back to gg and then finally back to Three on the same plan as you are on.

Service quality depends entirely on your area, however with gg I was getting frequent call drops, no Internet even with full signal at times, and poor speeds when it did work. Three has solved these issues, though penetration is of course not as good as it could be sometimes (this said, a huge number of areas gg didn't get signal, Three can, and in some of the areas that Three doesn't cover, gg didn't work properly anyway).

As said above, it's entirely dependent on your area.

Same here after years on 3, I suddenly found my signal was none existant. Had a new sim, tried a different phone. My other half also had same problems.

We moved to GG and things seem much better now :)

Recently got a GG sim to stick in my tablet - most areas around here when getting full signal the 3G seems to hard cap at 3.6MBit/s exactly dead on, ~80ms ping and 3600kbit/s up and down isn't too terrible tho.

Well I've made the move over to 3 the otherday, couldn't be happier with the signal i get round here with download speeds averaging between 15 to 20mb/sec indoors, on giffgaff best i was getting indoors was around 3mb/sec.

I went from giffgaff to 3 pay as you go think its 300mins 3000 texts and unlimited data for £15 a month. Really happy with the change mainly did it for the internet speeds. Also seem to get better signal in general compared to giffgaff do admit I'm missing the free gg to gg calls though.

20Mbit! Wish my N2 supported DC-HSPA/4G.

Soon...

I went from Voda to 3 and and difference is excellent. £15.90 sim only here as well.

Lol I went with 3 back in 2003 i think when they first launched because at the time they where the only network offering 3G, luckily i bought the handset on 3's PAYG and at the time the 3 network was shocking at best lol, plus the payg phone even back then was pig ugly it was one of these.

So this is the first time I've been back to them since those god awful days when they first launched, and can gladly say their network is now trillion times better. :)

Three's speeds are good but their coverage seems to be really hit or miss for me.
