Moving From PC to Console

The DC had a keyboard and mouse which you could use for Quake III didn't it? :D I'm coming round to the idea that they should have such peripherals for today's consoles, and then consoles would be on a true level playing field with PCs for games - of all genres.

It did?!

Lol I used the pad. I think it was one of those things where you play it so much it becomes second nature.

Although I agree a keyboard and mouse would be nice for some FPS I can't see microsoft doing it for the 360. After all it is a games console not a PC. Considering around 80% of upcoming games will be cross platform if you want to play the game with a keyboard and mouse use a pc.

Yeah but running the latest FPS games on your PC at a good framerate etc. requires regular spending to keep your PC up to date. My PC can't dream about running the latest most demanding games. If I could buy a 360 and play the latest FPS games with a keyboard/mouse it would really kill off PC gaming I think. Then again Microsoft doesn't want that because it makes PCs and hence Windows less attractive so there is a slight conflict of interest I guess. Maybe Sony should consider it, seeing as they have no vested interest in PCs like MS do :)

the DC pad was horrible for quake 3 :( N64 pad pulled it off with 1 analogue stick but the DC didn't

I have to say, I will probablly get a few comments on this, but I hated the DC pad.. I found it very uncomfortable with the shoulder buttons. On MVC2 and 3rd strike, My hand would literally hurt after an hour. I have never had that problem with any other controller.

But back on topic. Honestly, you will probablly get used to the controls on pad. I still find it a little awkward, compared to a M+K, but its not that bad after a while. I find it harder for sniping, for some odd reason.

You probablly wont have any trouble with 3rd person games though. The 360 pad is very comfortable, and I think you will love the live play. Gears Of War soon too, so you have picked a great time to join the 360 club!
