I think this just about fits in this "storage" forum :)
We have a Synology 2 port NAS that is coming to end of life. It's out of warranty so we need to get things up and running again.
Can I simply buy a newer NAS - say the DS213J and simply slam in the disks from the older NAS and I'd be able to access my data?
The disks in the old NAS are in a RAID 1 array and I'd like to simply be able to see that in the new NAS.
Just wondered if anyone else has done this?

This Synology guide will tell you how to migrate and importantly, whether you can migrate.

Whcih 2 bay model is coming to end of life?

In a nutshell, backup all your settings inside DSM, remove the disks and install them in new diskstation. Then restore the settings you backed up and it should be as if there was never any interuption.....
