Moving home, meter readings and new owners.

Just received a letter to my current address with the new owners name on at my old address. They have changed details on the account but not removed the redirect so now I'm getting the same letters I asked them to stop sending, but with another name on, you couldn't make this up!
 
I left a property 11 years ago with the electricity company saying their system needed to update for me to get my final bill. No bill ever arrived :D
 
Couple of months ago i changed supplier from SSE to NPower. What a massive ball ache it has turned out to be. I gave meter readings got the final bill through, rang sse to pay the final electric bill, made sure to ask them over the phone that it was fully closed and they said yes, did the same when i received the final gas bill, on the phone asking that it is now fully paid up and it is closed to which they said yes.

Few weeks later i get another bill saying i owe £64. Rand them up saying that i am fully paid up and the account is closed. guy on the phone couldnt tell were this money was from so told me that complaints would ring a few days later at 12:00. No one rang so i presumed they had sorted it out.

A week later i get an email saying if i dont pay soon they will pass it on to the recovery agents. This time i went to their facebook page and got a reply saying they will look into it. Apparently they had sorted my complaint out and that i still owed £64 but could not tell me how. I escalated it up the complaints system and was told i would be called within 5 working days.

It has been over a week and still no call, but i did receive a letter saying that i owe £64, however, on the check part at the bottom that i am supposed to take to the bank it says i owe the total amount of £0 ???

So when paying the final bills i get told over the phone that it was fuly paid up, i owe nothing and the accounts are closed. And yet they are now still trying to get more money out of me and even their bill they send out are telling me i owe money but also asks me to pay £0 ??

any advise lol

Ask to speak to someone higher in CS. Failing that take your story to the ombudsman.
