I am just about to move to a rental property and am looking for a short contract broadband supplier.....the exchange (CHUDLEIGH) only has talktalk llu so that rules out a lot of the other llu suppliers....

we are fairly heavy users of the internet so either unlimited access or say 30gb peak unlimited unpeak will be best for us...so far i have found...

bt line rental+ adsl24 home 30
" "+ UKFSN
" "+ Freedom2Surf
Utility Warehouse Broadcall (bit sceptical of them though read bad things...)

anyone got any advice or experiences of these isp's?

reason we want a short term contract is if we move again into an area where we can get cable/sky llu service then we would want to move back to that....

thanks for any help!

Is there a voice service already? You'd need that for ADSL, and the minimum contract you're looking at is 12 months.

Beyond that, there are loads of ISPs who do <12 month contracts but whether (m)any will give you unlimited at the price you're likely to want to pay is another story

there is a bt telephone line there which is activated to just a rolling line rental i believe....wasn't aware plusnet did short term at the moment, i knew they used to but couldn't seem to find one currently on offer...

Hi there, this is my first post but I've been addicted to reading these forums for ages!

I can certainly recommend line rental with BT (make sure to make your bill paperless if you like to get something like £1.50 off your bill) and Be Unlimited. https://www.bethere.co.uk/

It's the fastest ADSL2+ provider in the UK at 24MB download and 1.3MB upload (option to increase to 2.5MB) and offers a contract of which you have to give at least 3 months notice which could be suitable for you. The usage is unlimited.

I've been with them for the past 3 years now and the customer service is great as well as the resources you can access. Never has it dropped out on me and left me internet-less at the wrong time and I am a heavy user.

I've heard the thomson routers they provide these days aren't that great but I managed to avoid that seeing as I signed up so long ago.

Hope this helps.

This is quite interesting, since I cant get cable in my house (living in a flat is awkward) and with my Orange contract coming to an end. These guys may be worth a shot.
