Moving off at speed...

With your torque peak being at 3750rpm, if you slip the clutch (Keep your foot on the clutch pedal somewhat, even though you are moving, to prevent the wheels being spun) from standstill until the car has reached the speed in 1st that 3750rpm is, then you'll have achieved pretty much the best pull off you can.

It's really not rocket science you know. rev, feel the bite, feed the power through without loosing traction, bingo!.

Spoken for truth.

"Boot it" once moving @ 5 > 10 MPH. ;)
In any car with any kind of power, doing that at this time of year will result in loads of wheelspin and not going anywhere...

No it won't, well, doing the above has no ill effects in my car, or, hgv. - Before you ask, the car has Traction Control not the truck.

Boot it was not quite the right word, feed the power in quickly would be more apt I suppose.....

Well I wouldn't have expected an HGV to wheel spin and have torque steer problems :p

I generally like winter but one downside is not being able to put your foot down in 1st or 2nd without spinning the wheels.

God forbid someone would ask a question. Have a rolled eye for being so pedantic .

pedantic as in overly concerned with minute details? not really lol, i dont care. But if its helped even one person get more from google, then i've done my job havent i? I wont say have a 'rolled eye' back (just the one eye?) because....again i dont care lol:)

spinning wheels is really just down to not having enough traction isnt it? for a number of possible reasons - too much revs, too little clutch ect. its just a balance you have to get right:)

On most cars. I can still quite often boot it in 1st without the DSC cutting in. It's the corners I need to worry about :p
