Hi everyone, just got my new system from Overclockers, very pleased with it so far :) I was just wondering if anyone could help me out with one question I have regarding my SSD.

I have a 60GB SSD with Windows 7 64 bit installed on it, as well as a second drive which is a 1TB HDD. I have successfully moved my Libraries over to my HDD (Downloads, My Documents, My Music etc) but I'm having trouble moving the default location of the Program Files folders. Does anyone know a safe way of doing this? I was about to try the method listed here (http://www.intowindows.com/change-default-installation-directory-in-windows-7-vista/) which involves editing the registry, but then read this on the Microsoft support (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/933700) specifically saying not to do this :(

Anyone have any ideas on how to do this safely? I'm just mindful that if everything installs on the SSD it's going to fill up very quickly as it's only 60GB. Any help is much appreciated, and any general tips on SSD use will be most welcome as well as I've never had one before :D

just install the essential programs on the ssd, programs that usually take a long time to load and are needed most, for other programs when you install them an option usually pops up saying complete install or custom,if you click custom you can then create a folder on your hdd and name it as the program your installing and then install to that folder on your hdd instead of your ssd,it will work just the same and install desktop shortcuts ect

thats how i do it anyway
