Moving RAID-0 disks from ICH6R to ICH8R

It looks like my motherboard has died, so I will probably be upgrading it. Just wondered if anyone has experience of moving a SATA RAID-0 (stripe-set) of disks from a board with a ICH6R controller to an ICH8R controller.

Obviously, I did not back up the disks before the MB died, so I was rather hoping to salvage it :D

I could try to find an older board with a ICH6R as that should work easier, but is does look like a good excuse to buy some new kit!

So ...
Will it work?
Does anything need to be done in the right order to make it work?
Is the SATA port used significant. (The RAID set was on SATA2 & SATA3 on the ICH6R).
Any other thoughts or ideas?

TIA.

Don't know, you'll have to suck it and see I think, though there's an average chance it might work, I'd have thought. Then again, it is different controllers so who knows... You might try contacting Intel and asking them the question.
