moving/removing threads

I am glad i am not alone, I use the forum as a resource but for reasons unknown, threads get binned if they list to many settings it appears

OCUK clarification is needed as following a thread of interest is great, but moving (binning it) is so darn annoying!

its also annoying when members market gets removed from your account for NO reason and then when you ask politely for an explanation you are not given one.

its because people have a nasty habit of posting the settings for the bundles up on the forums

in which case, what is to stop joe average from saving the settings and buying elsewhere?

everyone knows i oversee the posts in OC&C and i make sure i support customers here
i have said countless times that if someone has a problem with their bundle then it is always best to contact me directly in customer service forums

that is the advantage that OCUK has over many companies, I overclock all of the OCUK bundles and offer support every time i am on the forums, even late at night when i am not at work

the customer support section is the best place to inquire about issues with bundles, there i can deal with each problem individually

if a forum member advises you to change an overclock to something that may damage your components then OCUK would be unable to honour warranty on the bundle as a whole.

if anyone has any issues with this, please contact me in customer support, technical and RMA and i will do my best to help resolve the matter

AHHHHHHHHH, thats why 2 of my EX58-UD5 threads went walk abouts, least i know now. So what are you saying rjkoneill, that no one can ask for help getting a stable 4GHz OC anymore, cos thats the main reason i posted 2 threads on it, and to be fair i have learnt a lot from those 2 threads (while they were up). It would be a shame for other members not to learn form the knowledge of other members. As everyone knows, every chip and mobo are different even if from the same manufacture, so what works for 1 member may not work for another member with the same setup, so thats where the OC bundles come in as you wouldnt have to spend days finding a stable clock, its already done for you, so i dont think Overclockers bundles would suffer as a result of people posting settings, just have a disclaimer with every post saying that the're not responsible for any damage caused

To be fair i would never have bought a OC bundle, as thats half the fun of getting a new PC, is getting a stable OC on your own....with help form other obviously on here

i get what you are saying - however
there are a lot of people buying the bits and asking for the 4ghz settings off me

you can see the predicament

Deleting these post is rather pathtic on ocuk behalf its not the worlds best kept secret is it really come on! i would respect it more there was a sticky saying please do not give out bios details as we cannot support customers who buy bundles..which fair enough. Dont forget a lot on here help out with questions about pc and we do as part of community, we probably save hours of newbies ringing with daft questions that we answer...respect goes two ways thats all :D

I disagree wholeheartedly, it is not pathetic. Thank you for stating publicly a reason.

I'm unsure why you don't fall back on "all hardware is unique, there are no standard 4ghz settings". That said, I don't really get why people chose to pay ocuk good money to spare themselves following a few algorithms. I assumed it was just for the reassurance that their chip would hit 4ghz, which suggests asking for bios settings when you don't have a bundle makes bugger all sense.

edit for inadequate spelling, and it's been quoted too :(

like i say
credit crunch
i need my job to pay for my bad habits :)
its best left alone

i try to help, but cant offer support on peoples bundles when joe random off the forums tells 'little johnny cant clock' to put 1.6volts through his chip

on the flipside, i cant justify posting settings or my role at ocuk would be redundant - im sure you understand i am just doing my job

Definitely conflicting interests in being called the overclockers forum yet not allowing settings of the most popular new chips to be posted due to also selling overclocking as a service with hardware bundles.

Still, with a will there's a way. Newbies can always buy or research their way out.

on the flipside, i cant justify letting settings out or my role at ocuk would be redundant - im sure you understand

A bit off topic rjkoneill, what are your views on the CPU Clock Skew setting?, at 1.275 vcore LinX failed within 20 minutes, i have now set CPU Clock Skew to 100ps and i have currently run a hour on Linx at 1.25625, thats like 3-4 increments lower. How does enabling this option allow for a stable system at lower vcore??

Bear in your mind that Rich is very busy man at ocuk as he had a job to do, he willing to help others with ocuk bundles problem but only on the customer support as I don't blame him (Rich) for not risk his own job.
