I have 2*250 gig sata II drives raided together (striped)

They are currently running on two nvidia chipset raid ports on my DFI lan party UT board.

I've just got an upgrade (please see my signature for specs). Will I be able to save the data and operate on the new chipset.

The drives are practically full and I really don't fancy losing all that data.

Thanks in advance.

If the motherboards use the same chipset then you might be able to migrate the Raid array across but if not I very much doubt you will have any success and there is no guarantee anyway even if the do use the same chipset. :)

Yup, it's backing up time I'm afraid.

i moved raid drives from one SI set to another SI setup on a diff mobo (both DFI) and all was fine. then moved to the SI ports on an intel mobo and again, the array was picked up without any hassle

its not so much the chipset thats important its the type of the RAID controller , if this is the same then it SHOULD work but then again I would backup a couple of times just to be sure before doing anything (obviously if its a boot RAID, then yes the identical board is the only thing that will work unless you are able to uninstall the chipset drivers etc from the old board first)
