moving stuff from Sky+HD HDD to PC, possible?

Well as long as the tv liscence and the sky subscription is being paid and its on my skybox i would say that i do own it.
And anyway, what about recordable DVD players and VCRs, do you have something against them?

i think as the sky box upscales the SD content it detects it as HD material. However you could just lower the bit rate to allow smaller files but i have no idea what kind of effect this has on the quality as ive yet to try it.

Ah right, well im sure my dad will have a few spare HDDs lying around in his office so i might be able to 'borrow' them :p

LOL! Justify it to yourself however you like. You're still breaking copyright law if you copy films to long-term storage with the intention of keeping them
