Hi,

Im quickly running out of free space on the 160Gb hard drive in my Dell laptop. What I want to do is install a new 500Gb hard drive and clone the existing HDD onto the new one.

Whats the best way of doing this? Does Windows 7 have any inbuilt features for doing this?

Thanks!

Their other app, Todo Backup does disk cloning and also copies/restores partition and disk images.

I find it a bit better and more reliable than Macrium Reflect, although both "have had their moments".

I use norton ghost for these sorts of jobs as it clones on a file-by-file basic rather than sector-by-sector so if you clone a 160gb drive to 500gb you can see the whole drive as oppose to just the first 160gb as with other tools

good to see an alternative though :)
