Moving to Be Unlimited from BT

I think you'll have to return it and get an o2-branded one (not sure though) but you've got a grace period to return it in, so just wait for the new o2 box.

I'm not sure on the change-over period but doubt that it's that long. You'll not have much/any downtime either as it's all on the same LLU equipment.

I've contacted someone but I know a lot of people on Be (I used to be a member mod on the beforums - FrenchTart) so if the same can be done with them to switch to o2 I can definitely throw some names your way.

no need mate, i'm tersh support for O2 :D

do you need to return your Be* box? I use a Be* box on my line but just got a 587n for testing today.

I mean I can throw some names to switch from Be to o2 your way :)

I'm setting up with a new line (well, my girlfriend will be as I'm looking after different bills) so returning the BeBox is not a prob for me.

it says you've been validated so you should have got an email!

if anyone else wants to move over for £7.50 a month, lemme know!

Would you mind confirming that people currently on Be can do this and what the process is? Thanks :)

There's several people with Be I know that are interested but I want to be able to advise them fully about it.

Also, do you have MSN? :p

well, i've put a few through for Be* customers now. Be to O2 transfers are free anyway, in contract, you just get a MAC, tell em you're moving to o2.

Well as per the OP I'm now on o2 (£7.50 a month on basic package discounted as a o2 mobile user. Not Be as I originally intended, but I think they are pretty much the same beast). Cutover from BT was painless, service dropped at lunchtime, by 2 in the afternoon I was up and running. Early days yet, but so far so good. On BT I was averaging anything from 3.5 to 5 Mbps, usual though around the 4 Mbps area. So far after 36 hours I've had 1.2 up 5.4 down. Hoping it will increase as the router synchs over the next few days.

Wireless seems ok also, I have one of the Thomson TG585v7 routers although I've just bought an ex-sky Netgear 834GT and will be looking to get that on line.

Sorted, got the DG834GT from fleebay (£15, bargain). Overwritten the Sky firmware with the latest Netgear. Next step, to replace the o2 box. :)
