Moving to I5 set-up

This system will have to last about 3-4years?

That ASUS board and many others including support Ivybridge when they are released.

Another thought is if you are anal and want a colour scheme,

Thanks for your help nah not to bothered about a colour scheme can't really see into the case. Would you say Asus bored is worth it then?

Yea definitely won't go x-fire or SLI

Look good there is a review about waiting for the V2 due to some voltage auto issues or shall this not be a problem? I do have an Asus Xonar D2X 7.1 PCI-E but by the looks of it that shouldn't be a problem. As i say if one is more future proof then the other then I don't mind spending £30 but does have some great reviews that board.

I've never heard about a auto voltage issue, the only difference I know of beteewn the two versions is the number of SATAII ports (one has 3 the other is 4) both support PCI-E3.0 with a Ivybridge chip which there are BIOS updates already for.

The latest also solves an issue that has plagued all the boards,

Was just in one of the reviews on OcUK website. I think I shall go for the above. Any difference in the Corsair A50 and Gelid? Would say I have £50 spare but I guess I could put that towards a new GPU

I shall just got with

-A50
- Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz
-Gigabyte Z68AP-D3 Intel Z68 (Socket 1155)
-Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2x4GB)

Then put the saved cash towards a 6870 or 560ti instead of a 6850 unless you see the cash being better spent on cpu etc

My 600w PSU should be fine i am presuming?

Your PSU is fine for any of those cards, no need to get anything more than a i5 2500K for gaming.

Had to wait to gather some more funds but does this set up look good and all compatible:
