Moving to mobile data internet

Hi guys, I'm considering moving to mobile data tethered to my pc as we have no fibre in my area and speeds are just horrific, usually no faster than 10mbps. I struggle with watching Youtube at 720 some days.

This in itself is no issue, but I do have a PoE camera that runs to my router.
Does anyone have any idea how not having a router but still having remote access to the camera would work?

What router?

I can hook up a phone to mine via usb and use that for inet access across my whole network.
 
It's currently a crappy one Shell send out.
Do you think running the camera to the ethernet on my PC would work? It's currently camera - poe injector- router.

I'm planning on tethering the PC to my phone via USB and internetting that way.
 
There’s a very long and detailed thread in this section talking about 5G home broadband. You’ll need to know where your closest cell tower is, how far away it is, how good a signal you get and likely be prepared for variable speeds and latency at different times of the day. You may also need an external aerial too.

There's not a dedicated thread for 5G home broadband that I can see, and with Three's current offering at £27 a month for 24 months, with unlimited data, and the 1st 6 months at half price, 5G could now potentially be a replacement for fixed line broadband for some people. Myself included...

I've tethered my phone to it, which is currently on Vodafone and got about 50mbps which is over 3 times my current broadband speed.

According to 3's website we have very good 3 and 4G service coverage, and 5G is available in the area.

I was looking at doing this too, but looked at 5g sim routers and the prices were ridiculous, ive got a 5G Three sim in my phone and upstairs in my bedroom I get like 700mb/s download speeds, so its very good and wouldnt have an issue putting the router in the bedroom, then running a cable to my PC, everything else is WiFi, I want to get away from Virgin whilst BRSK finish setting up in our area, can anyone recommend a cheaper router ? or what are you using ?

Last year when I decided to have a new phone I got hold of 4 of those cards you see in Mobile shops, one each for EE, Three, Vodafone and O2.
I didn't care about wasting £10 each on them because I wanted to test the best network in my area and it ended up being Three.
5G still isn't brilliant where I am, around 50meg but at my brothers about 5 mile away I was getting around 800mbps in his kitchen and he ended up getting a Three 5G router.
It might be worth trying out different providers, I'm very happy I spent that £40.

Or you can just get Three's 4G/5G home broadband plan and they supply the router for free.

Well I thought I'd give 3 a go.
Faster than my old copper broadband but not by a massive amount. I got a brief flick of 74mbps earlier but it's been around 30-50 most of the day.
I just can't seem to find a good home for the hub.

It's been all around the house pretty much connected to my Lidl extension reel and a long ethernet lead.
Even chucked it in the loft for a few checks.

We're right on the edge of two towers from what I gather so I'm not sure if that's the issue, it seems to like the front downstairs near the porch door.
Going on the -dbm reading anyway. Which has been top -80s to low -90s all round the house.
 
Three is really hit and miss dependent on the location, i've got over 1600Mbps in some places but where I live it doesn't work right any more and the three Status has said there is works going on since feb...
 
We use EE for our 4G based home Internet connection. We have an aerial on the roof and connected to a teltonika rut950 modem.
Works great, so much better than the terrible adsl we used to have. Our speed varies a bit but is usually >30MB/s up and down. Looking forward to 5G coming to our area but there's no plans that I can see at the moment.
