Moving User files to second partition

Hi Guys,
I've recently purchased a Raptor HDD and decided I'd respect my new purchase with a clean install instead of just HDcloning it.

However, I thought it'd be a good idea to partition the raptor so the first partition contains the system, programs etc.. and the second partition contains user profiles and documents etc..

Now I have come to realise that there seems to be no option to select the location for the user folder and subfolders such as My Documents. I've searched the forums and some people have suggested right clicking the folder in question > Properties > Location and typing the new location but the location tab is nowhere to be seen on my computer.

Is there no way to do this? Or is my only option to create a separate 'My Documents' folder and replace the old my documents shortcut with a shortcut to the new folder?

I've downloaded TweakUI as I found out that this program seems to provide the option to move these folders but it only seems to give you the option of moving ''My Documents'', not the whole user profile which I thought may cause an issue unless I'm mistaken?

Lastly, is it a problem moving the user folder(s)? Will it cause any issues?

Thanks in advance,
Regards,
Tig

Vista requires you to move the individual folders rather than the entire user documents folder.

If you are on XP still, right click the My Documents on the start menu to gain access to the location tab.

Oh that's great thanks mate, So now I've moved My Documents to my second partition.

However, when programs save program folders in your documents (for example a game may keep your save files in your documents folder) will they now save them to the new location?

yup, i've been doing this for years. just remember not all games save to my documents. some will put them in your profile folder (documents and settings\username) and some will use the install directory (c:\program files\whatever).
