Moving Windows from HDD to SSD

My friend has just bought a SSD and wants to transfer his Windows install over, basically clone the drive.

What are the things that need to be done to achieve this?

I assume his HDD will be installed as IDE, yet the SSD should use AHCI. Can I just change BIOS and do a reg edit, if so what is it? Also what about TRIM etc?

Macrium Reflect.

Make the switch to AHCI in Windows before you make the change in BIOS. Windows should detect the SSD and enable TRIM.

Personally I'd just do a fresh install, doesn't take long!
