doesn't seem to slow down the startup time, and gives you somthing to look at for the 1 second that its loading so ner

well without it, mine loads up in well under a second -basically instant, -can't tell the speed difference between ie6 and ffox on this pc anyway.., with that extention loaded, it takes about 2 seconds!

Slowed down Firefox's startup on mine too. Not very useful then.

Surely if it took any less than 2 secs you wouldn't see the splash?!

proberly becasue the splash screen is set to stay on for 3 seconds default, which you can change as I did to 1 second and haven't noticed a speed difference
