Mozy Package changes

First time heard about this, but looks good, however for the life of me I can not find out how much space you get with the subscription version

I could be a north american thing. I've removed a few of my less important files to get to the 50GB mark.

You probably didn't need to do that. I doubt they would just start deleting your backups without warning.

Googling around, it appears the 50GB limit is for new customers. Existing customers on a yearly, or biennial renewal (like me) will stay unlimited until their current contract ends. After that I expect a lot of people will jump ship to backblaze (or whoever). I will be moving from Mozy when my contract expires in June 2012. My Mozy backup is currently ~95GB but I could probably dump a lot of it.

BTW backblaze are currently offering 10% discount to ex-mozy people

Unfortunately I signed up for monthly and was advised that my next bill would be $11.99. I was going to sign up for the year last month but forgot.

I may email support asking if I can signup for 2 years on the old plan. No harm in trying. :D

They've just sent me an email containing the following:
While this policy takes effect for new MozyHome customers starting today, your MozyHome Unlimited subscription is still valid for the duration of your current 2 year term. Your new plan will take effect on your first renewal after March 1, 2011. Based on your current usage of 1 computers and 95.75 gigabytes, your renewal plan will be $209.79 for a 2 year term.

My account isn't due for renewal until June 2012, but the email could be mis-interpreted as saying that it's due in March 2011.
This probably explains why Mozy's website is slow - a lot of people trying to found out more info.

That is correct. As my subscription is monthly the new package starts on my next billing date. They emailed me the same thing stating that I would need to pay 11.99 for 129GB of data on Feb 13th 2011. :(.
