MP Gaming -- would you cheat if you could?

I tried a cheat for counterstrike 4 or 5 years ago (wall hack i think).

I didnt really want to cheat, i just wanted to see it in action (if that makes sense).

Never cheated since.

No. What's the point? The whole fun of online gaming is beating people by being better than them.

I once tested an aimbot someone sent me over MSN for UT2003 years ago with my clan mates on our private server. It was fun for all of 3 seconds.

Used to cheat in SP games all the time when I was a nipper. Then, as I grew older at the games I realised there was no point; I was cheating myself and not experiencing the game properly.

Never cheated in MP and people who do mystify me. It's like showing up to a knife fight with an M16. Big woop, you can kill everyone. Don't make you any good at the game though.

I would try it out for 5 mins if some one was really annoying me, but on a general gaming basis no I would not.

No - because I'm not some poor lil fella who needs to feel good by cheating to win against people on a game that doesn't mean anything other than having a good time.

I also am typically not sucky at games.

No, it just defeats the entire purpose of it.

I can see the point of some cheats in SP, maybe to improve your stats, or help skip a certain section, or to boost money if you've messed up an RTS campaign etc...

But why bother cheating in MP? I'd just find it boring, its just clicking a mouse button and watching people die... the fun is in knowing its you that caused that, not some cheat code!

Part of the enjoyment I get from on-line gaming is the challenge of pwning the other players and trying to increase my K/D ratio.

If you were low enough to use an aimbot, then it'll get boring pretty quickly imho. You'd also deserve a big hit on the head with the banstick and possibly get banned from STEAM in the process. It's really not worth it.

Nope, I suck but at least I know I do since I never have time to play any game for long enough.

Even if I was bad at a mp game I would never cheat. The only reason to do so would be to get a kick out of annoying other people, and people who feel the need to do that obviously have significant personal/social issues.

No, i never have and never will in multiplayer games.

The thing is, i knew someone on Steam who cheated (clearly not something picked up by VAC), chances are some people know who i'm talking about. He was clearly aimbotting at times, this was so ridiculously obvious i honestly don't know how he thought he could get away with it. He'd be headshotting zombies with the Hunting Rifle while moving because you could clearly see his aim snap in order to make the spread of the bullet still hit.

His reasoning? He wanted to be as good as the rest of us. Since he got rid of the hack he's improved his game by actually trying to get better (that or is still hacking but making it less noticable, but who can tell...).

Nope and I am dead against people who use hax tbh.

I have tried an aim bot back in my AQ2 days. Running around with kevlar vest/sniper rifle, head shotting people from across the map with 2x zoom whilst running, good times :D

It was more a test to see if it worked/what it looked like if anything. I only used it once and then never again.
